Corporate Social Responsibility--How to do it well

2:30 pm – Registration and Networking
3 - 6 pm – Workshop
6 - 7:30 pm – Social hour -- Stay for a free drink and hors d'oeuvres

This workshop will approach CSR from two perspectives. Strategically, how does CSR fit with the soul of your company? What key drivers within the business can be harnessed to deliver deep value that goes beyond the bottom line? Tactically, what are some practical ways to secure some quick and tangible CSR wins for your company that will pave the way for greater initiatives in the future? You will hear two dynamic presentations from our speakers, plus engage in some stimulating discussion about how CSR does – and could – look in your (or a client’s) company.

Presenters

  • Peggie Pelosi is the founder and CEO of ORENDA (www.orendaconnections.com), a strategic CSR consulting company dedicated to helping companies leverage the power of CSR to create a meaningful connection between people and the places they work.

At the peak of her sales career, Peggie was brought in as VP of Network Development (Sales) for USANA Health Sciences (usna-NASDAQ). In an effort to inspire the company and its employees, Peggie created a partnership between USANA and the Children’s Hunger Fund that reinvigorated the company. The next few years brought staggering results. Not only did company-wide contributions to the charity grow 10 fold, sales increased dramatically resulting in a 3000% increase in USANA’s share value. Since then she has helped multiple other organizations achieve results through non-profit partnerships.

Peggie is a sought after speaker to businesses, business groups, business schools and non-profit organizations on Corporate Karma--How business can move forward by giving back. She is also a graduate of the CSR program at St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto.

  • Jonathan Wilson is the founder and CEO of Soul Systems (www.soulsystems.ca), a leadership and strategy consulting practice that enables senior executives to transform strategic and organizational complexities into leadership opportunities in the market. This begins with companies understanding and leveraging their organizational soul.

Jonathan brings to his work an extraordinary background of life, senior executive, board and consulting experience on four continents and in radically varied environments: from remote tribes in tropical rainforests to warring politicians in Africa; from nationwide multi-stakeholder projects to the boardrooms of global companies.

He is based in Toronto, Canada and serves mid-to-large organizations. Jonathan has delivered presentations and workshops in SE Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.
