Reporting to the Director, the Organization Development and Learning Consultant is a key resource contributing to the achievement of Holland Bloorview’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan. This individual will collaborate directly with managers and decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support effective Organization Development interventions for the hospital. They will partner and coach managers on organizational design, talent management, change leadership, employee development, training/education, employee engagement and individual/team coaching.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with managers to effectively design, implement, communicate, manage and enhance Organization Development (OD) programs and change initiatives 
  • Provide OD project leadership on strategic initiatives with assigned client groups 
  • Partner with management on organizational design, talent management, change leadership, employee development, training/education, employee engagement and individual coaching 
  • Participate in hospital wide committees to provide expertise related to Organization Development and change 
  • Partner and coach leaders, stakeholders and Human Resources in implementing change management strategies and plans to support major organizational change to move the vision, mission, values and strategic plan forward 
  • Facilitate meetings, focus groups and OD interventions 
  • Utilize OD knowledge and expertise to evaluate leadership, change, coaching and learning programs 
  • Coordinate and assist with the day-to-day delivery of OD services to client groups and be an available resource to management 
  • Lead assigned projects within the Organization Development and Learning department 

Qualifications: 

Education 

  • Master’s degree in organizational development, leadership, education or a health discipline preferred 
  • Certification or designation in organization development; coaching; facilitation and change management strongly preferred 

Experience 

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in organizational development, coaching, change leadership and/or training/education preferably in a healthcare environment 
  • Advanced OD knowledge and expertise in developing, implementing and evaluating leadership, change, coaching and learning programs 
  • Deep understanding and experience with the LEADS in a Caring Environment Capabilities Framework an asset 
  • Proven experience and capability in leading self, engaging others, achieving results, developing coalitions and system transformation 
  • High ethical standards, promotes inclusiveness and recognizes and respects the value of diversity within our community

  • Advanced leadership, facilitation and coaching skills 
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to customize communications to a variety of audiences 
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal development 
  • Excellent decision making, problem recognition, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills 
  • Organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to manage competing demands 
  • Ability to effectively represent Holland Bloorview to community partners 
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
