The Manager, Leadership Assessment and Development will effectively lead and manage the identification and assessment of individual and store leadership challenges, implementation of leadership development programs and other organizational development services.  This role will to help develop the leadership skills of Canadian Tire Associate Dealers and managers to help them deliver strategy for improving the overall effectiveness of their leadership skills and their teams’ skills.

What you’ll do

  • Manage relations with Associate store Dealers (Franchisees) and managers within various regions across Canada 
  • Consult and partner with corporate clients to build leadership skills
  • Conduct in-person individual and store level leadership assessments to identify individual, group, & store level strengths/opportunities
  • Interpret and synthesizing behavioural assessments and statistical data to assess and understand personality traits, leadership skills, and contextual factors and understand how they impact store level results and ultimately customer service  
  • High level project management skills required to effectively manage various work projects and tasks 
  • Design and developing new leadership assessment and development programs and tools to help Associate stores
  • Network with and influencing Associate store Dealers to sell leadership development, HR, and OD services within Associate stores

What you’ve done

  • Masters or PhD in the area of: Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • Experience in leadership assessment and development with 5 years in a coaching or Organizational Development/Effectiveness role
  • Independent and tactical with a proven ability to develop professional relationships and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Interpersonal savvy (work effectively and build relationships with senior management, Associate Dealers and a number of cross-functional teams) and ability to deal with sensitive issues
  • Exhibits high professional standards and integrity and personal ethical conduct
  • Works well under pressure, change and ambiguity
  • Ability to be successful in implementing and sustaining a newly developed program
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time within a region in Canada
